About The Position
As a Welder with Thompson Pipe Group, you will inspect, finish, and repair welded steel cylinders used in large-diameter pressure pipe applications, including water transmission, sewer, and penstock systems.
Requirements
- FCAW welding experience
- Ability to pass a 3G FCAW weld test with back gouge and back weld
- Ability to produce welds that meet required quality and inspection standards
- Ability to consistently maintain acceptable weld quality
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, measurements, and specifications
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
Nice To Haves
- SMAW experience preferred
- SAW experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Performing weld repairs to applicable specifications
- Back gouging and back welding
- Oxy-acetylene cutting
- Grinding and finishing welded surfaces
- Inspecting welds and identifying defects
- Measuring and documenting repairs accurately
- Following all safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Maintaining quality and production standards
