About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Welder for our 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing materials for welding, reading blueprints, setting up welding machines, and ensuring the quality of welds and parts. This role requires a strong understanding of welding processes, blueprint interpretation, and the use of various measurement tools. We value a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, even if your experience differs slightly from the listed requirements.

Requirements

Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material)
3-5 years of welding experience required
Pass the welding certification tests for current materials used in the shop
Read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets
Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes
Excellent written and verbal communication skill
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

Prepare materials for welding; cut, grind, and clean metal.
Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
Use complicated weld fixtures and weld positioners (turntables).
Dimensionally inspect welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
Complete required quarterly process control samples.
Complete logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performed.
Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
Work outside department as required.
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
Follow all safety guidelines and wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Complete all required compliance training.
Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Barnes Aerospace’s internal compliance policies and procedures.
Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
