About The Position

Finning is growing fast—and so are the opportunities! We are currently hiring a Journeyperson Welder in our Saskatoon shop. This role involves maintaining and repairing Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment. Responsibilities include component rebuild and repair, some manufacturing, and performing routine maintenance work. The position requires occasional work at heights and in confined spaces, and involves frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance. The Welder will also complete technical documentation, interact with customers, sales support, and the Finning team, and work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid driver’s license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW
• Ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Nice To Haves

• Machining experience is beneficial
• Repair welding would be considered an asset
• Strong line boring experience will be considered an asset
