The Shop Welder is responsible for setting up their own machine, fabricating and repairing simple components, and carefully observing workplace safety rules and standards. This role requires a high level of proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and fabricating experience. The incumbent must also wear a respirator when required and possess manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery. The job requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting, with the ability to repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted. Adequate visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing are necessary for safe task performance.
