Welder (Shop)
About The Position
The Shop Welder is responsible for setting up their own machine, fabricating and repairing simple components, and carefully observing workplace safety rules and standards. This role requires a high level of proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and fabricating experience. The incumbent must also wear a respirator when required and possess manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery. The job requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting, with the ability to repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted. Adequate visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing are necessary for safe task performance.
Requirements
- High level of proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
- Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
- Must have own tools.
- Must have fabricating experience.
Nice To Haves
- 3-5 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and environmental health within the shop facility.
- Set up, maintain and break down welding equipment.
- Reference blueprints and schematics to ensure component specifications.
- Ensure all equipment is in good/safe operating condition.
- Ensure welding procedures are known and followed.
- Ensure high quality fabrication on all projects.
