About The Position

As a Welder/Pipefitter, you will perform journeyman level welding/cutting & metal fabrications in the Allied Trades Welding shop & Field support, and welding/fabrication/repairs as required. This role involves performing shop/field Journeyman SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Welding & Metal Fabrications, ensuring work meets Project Regulations, Technical Manual & Industry Standards. The position requires reading blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan processes and layouts efficiently. You will fabricate metal products per technical drawings or customer samples, assist in coaching subordinate welders on Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations, and be responsible for the welding testing/qualification process and test plate inspections. Additionally, you will utilize Oxygen/Acetylene, Carbon Arc, and Plasma cutting equipment and observe all current OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H and fire regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in Weld Shop.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in welding inspection is required.
  • Must be a qualified journeyman.
  • Experience with power tools, power saws, cranes, drills, Etc., Etc.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Shop/Field Journeyman SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Welding & Metal Fabrications.
  • Ensures the work performed meets Project Regulations, Technical Manual & Industry Standards.
  • Reads blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan the process and layout to be performed in an expeditious, economical, and effective manner.
  • Fabricates metal products per technical drawings or customer provided samples by welding/cutting/fabricating various metals.
  • Assists in coaching subordinate welders in ensuring all current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations are complied with.
  • Responsible for the Welding Testing/Qualification process and test plate inspections for assigned Welding personnel and in ensuring that the current internal welding qualification program is maintained and up to date.
  • Utilizes Oxygen/Acetylene, Carbon Arc, Plasma cutting equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
  • Responsible for observing all current OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H and fire regulations.
