About The Position

Rhoads Industries is seeking a Welder/Pipefitter Journeyman to join their Industrial Services team. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial-field pipe welding and pipefitting. The position is based in Northeast Philadelphia and involves fabricating and assembling piping systems according to P&ID's and ISO drawings, working with various materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. The role also includes training and mentoring less experienced employees and potentially traveling within the Philadelphia and Tristate Area.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial-field pipe welding/pipefitting.
  • Must pass a 6G GTAW, 6G SMAW test.
  • Must pass a layout pipe fitting proficiency test.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding P&ID’s, ISO drawings.
  • Proficient in using all power tools used in the fabrication of piping systems such as grinders, port-a-bands, saw zaws, and threading machines.
  • Experience with all equipment involved with rigging pipe in the air.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or high reach experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in areas such as metallurgy, welding safety, and quality control.
  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate.
  • Must own a vehicle and hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Willing to travel daily in and around Philadelphia and the Tristate Area.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble piping systems to the highest quality using P&ID's and ISO drawings.
  • Use all power tools used in the fabrication of piping systems such as grinders, port-a-bands, saw zaws, and threading machines.
  • Operate all equipment involved with rigging pipe in the air.
  • Utilize forklift, scissor lift, or high reach equipment.
  • Work with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel pipe.
  • Troubleshoot and solve issues with tools and equipment used in the fabrication and installation of pipe.
  • Submit corrective actions needed to repair all equipment used in the fabrication of piping systems.
  • Plan and participate in pipe fabrication and installation projects, ensuring timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Train and mentor employees with less experience.
