About The Position

Rhoads Industries is seeking a Welder/Pipefitter Journeyman to join their Industrial Services team. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in industrial-field pipe welding/pipefitting and the ability to pass specific welding and pipefitting tests. The position is based in Northeast Philadelphia and involves supporting customers in various settings such as manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and construction.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in industrial-field pipe welding/pipefitting.
Must pass a 6G GTAW, 6G SMAW test.
Must pass a layout pipe fitting proficiency test.
Must own a vehicle.
Hold a valid Driver's License.
Willing to travel daily in and around Philadelphia and the Tristate Area.
Ability to lift/hold 50lbs.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to navigate frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.

Nice To Haves

Experience with all equipment involved with rigging pipe in the air.
Forklift, scissor lift, or high reach experience.

Responsibilities

Proficiently read and understand P&ID's and ISO drawings to fabricate and assemble piping systems.
Utilize all power tools common in piping system fabrication, including grinders, port-a-bands, saw zaws, and threading machines.
Operate equipment for rigging pipe and possess experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, or high reach equipment.
Work with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel pipe.
Apply advanced knowledge in metallurgy, welding safety, and quality control.
Troubleshoot and solve issues with tools and equipment used in pipe fabrication and installation.
Submit corrective actions needed to repair all equipment used in piping system fabrication.
Plan and participate in pipe fabrication and installation projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Train and mentor employees with less experience.
