About The Position

Aerex Industries, Inc. is an ASME Code authorized steel fabrication facility possessing the “U”, “S” & “R” ASME Certificates of Authorization. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Five years welding experience required.
  • Must successfully pass a welder qualification test requiring a full penetration butt groove weld on 2” –Sch. 40 stainless steel pipe in the 6G position utilizing the GTAW process.
  • Able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands required to perform job functions.
  • Must have dependable transportation for commute to and from work.

  • Ability to satisfactorily work alone and willingness to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment.

  • Perform job functions in the standing position as well as other physical positions as needed to accommodate restrictive weld locations.
  • Ability to pass welder qualification test in accordance to ASME Sect. IX, AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.6 utilizing the GTAW, GMAW & FCAW processes.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours if needed to accommodate demanding delivery schedules.
  • Perform work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses, safety boots, face shield, full welding operator protection gear and respiratory protection equipment as needed.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and devices applicable to metal, FRP and plastic fabrication.
  • Ability to accurately read and comprehend linear and circumferential measuring equipment.
  • Basic math skill to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division ranging from whole numbers to fractions and decimals.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication layouts and drawings.
  • Work cohesively with coworkers and management.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Perform work safely in accordance with all Company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to utilize trigonometry for layout and fitting is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • High quality welding utilizing the GTAW, GMAW & FCAW processes.
  • Fitting and welding of component parts, equipment, piping systems and vessels as specified by procedures, detailed fabrication drawings, written work orders and verbal instruction.
  • Operate and/or use related fabrication equipment and tools including but not limited to forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, cutting torches, power hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Read, comprehend and follow job order specifications, drawings, work instructions, and procedures.
  • Perform and understand basic mathematical and problem solving skills.
  • Report safety related issues and violations to management.
  • Perform or assist with other fabrication duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies.
  • Discuss ideas and thoughts for improving work environment, quality and / or production with management.
