This position involves MIG welding on thin metals of varying compositions, requiring the operation of specialized hand and power tools. The welder will be responsible for reading and understanding blueprints and AWS welding symbols, selecting and installing torch tips, filler rods, and flux, and visually inspecting welds to ensure conformance to specifications. The role also includes operating assigned machinery, planning and interpreting drawings, producing and inspecting parts against specifications, and using precision measuring instruments. Maintaining paperwork, demonstrating safe work habits, and assisting in other departments are also key aspects of the position. The job requires the ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the shift, lift objects, and maintain a clean work area and equipment.
