About The Position

RFNOW Inc. is seeking motivated individuals to join their Construction and Maintenance Team as a Welder/Mechanic. This role involves maintaining all medium and heavy-duty construction equipment throughout the year, including plows, drills, hoes, and trucks. The Welder/Mechanic will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repairs, and overhauling of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This position is ideal for a responsible, independent, and self-motivated mechanic who is eager to tackle on-the-spot repairs at various field locations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Proven experience as a welder and mechanic (typically 2+ years)
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent problem-solving, trouble-shooting and analytical skills
  • Experience in diesel engines, heavy equipment, automotive repair, industrial fabrication
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Keen interest to learn and develop new skills and keep up with advancing technology

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate as a Welder and/or Mechanic
  • Forklift or heavy equipment operation certification
  • Class 3 License

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes as required
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment according to blueprints, technical drawings, or verbal instructions
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems including engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting torches, and welding equipment safely and effectively
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA standards
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed
