Welder II

Relativity Space•Cape Canaveral, FL
•$30 - $45•Onsite

About The Position

As a Welder on the Launch Team, you will fabricate, fit, and weld piping systems that support the Terran R launch site, including process piping, utility systems, and ground support infrastructure. You will work with engineering, fabrication, construction, and operations teams to install piping systems safely and accurately, in accordance with applicable drawings, procedures, and specifications. The role includes reading and interpreting engineering drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication prints, weld procedures, and specifications; fitting, fabricating, and welding piping systems and mechanical assemblies using processes such as TIG, MIG, FCAW, and stick welding; and performing pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other applicable alloys in shop and field environments. You will also prepare, align, and install piping systems; operate fabrication equipment and hand tools; support system installation, testing, and field integration; and collaborate with management and engineering teams to improve safe and repeatable processes. The position follows safety, quality, and workmanship standards while supporting project schedules and launch site operational needs, and includes other launch site, fabrication, and welding-related tasks as assigned. Candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at the government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The role may involve lifting up to 40 pounds and using required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional welding and fabrication experience, including pipe welding and industrial systems.
  • Experience using multiple welding processes, such as TIG, MIG, FCAW, and stick welding.
  • Experience reading and interpreting isometric drawings, blueprints, weld procedures, and welding symbols.
  • Experience fitting, fabricating, and installing piping systems or mechanical assemblies to meet applicable drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Experience using fabrication tools and shop equipment, such as grinders, drills, saws, and pipe preparation tools.
  • Experience operating forklifts, reach lifts, man lifts, or similar equipment.
  • Ability to work in an active construction or industrial environment, which may include lifting up to 40 pounds and using required personal protective equipment.
