About The Position
The Welder II welds metal components together using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products and metal parts. The role includes MIG and TIG welding, with potential robotic operation. The position may also perform duties outside its function or trade, with adequate training provided when necessary.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a drug screen and fitness-for-duty test, as applicable.
Nice To Haves
- NIMS certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Weld metal parts using gas welding, brazing, and combinations of arc-welding processes.
- Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
- Position and clamp components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding.
- Locate and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding and work with potential robotic operation.
