About The Position
The Welder II ensures products meet Engineering and Quality requirements, including on-time delivery. This role performs MIG welding on steel parts of varying sizes, thicknesses, and weights and works as a motivated, effective team player. The position is full-time and onsite in Selma, California, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A drug screen is required.
Requirements
- Read blueprints and understand weld symbols.
- Understand fractions and decimals, including fraction conversions.
- Read and use a tape measure, steel rules, and squares.
- Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to build steel structures.
- Possess a strong work ethic and work effectively as a team player.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Read, write, and comprehend written and spoken English.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Blueprint reading: 3 years required.
- Manufacturing: 3 years required.
- Crane operation: 3 years required.
- Precision measuring instruments: 3 years required.
- MIG welding: 3 years required.
- Power tools: 1 year required.
- Pass a drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- At least 5 years of welding experience.
- Certified welder.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel parts of varying sizes, thicknesses, and weights.
- Use cranes and rigging to move parts and weldments.
- Operate cutting equipment, including plasma and oxy-fuel cutting torches.
- Use powered hand tools such as grinders, sanders, drills, and saws.
- Complete and maintain required paperwork, records, and documentation.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Maintain good housekeeping and dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
- Learn and operate multiple jigs and fixtures, rotate jobs as needed, and assist in training employees in their safe and efficient use.
- Work at a reasonable production pace while meeting quality standards and timelines.
- Measure and lay out locations for welded components accurately, using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
