About The Position

Welders perform a variety of tasks that vary by location and play a key role in manufacturing carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum products and subassemblies. They are expected to produce high-quality work while meeting production standards. Qualification weld tests are required, and certification tests may be required depending on the product line. Applicants who do not pass the initial weld test may qualify by attending Wabash’s in-house Weld School and demonstrating that they can pass the test after training. Wabash provides training for welding positions, including orientation and several days of training before employees begin work on the production floor. The role may involve welding in tight or small spaces and working at heights of 15–20 feet. Employees must follow safety policies and practices, wear approved personal protective equipment, and contribute to safety, quality, and delivery performance. Work conditions may include fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, high temperatures, and occasional exposure to outside elements.
