About The Position

The Welder/Fitter fabricates and welds heavy industrial structural steel equipment and components using Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). The role requires following shop drawings, interpreting welding symbols, and meeting welding test standards. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs. The position is located in Ashland, Virginia, and offers starting pay of $24.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay depending on experience. Overtime is available, with approximately 50–56 hours per week.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Ability to pass a full-penetration vertical weld test.
• Ability to pass an overhead fillet weld test.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and AWS weld symbols.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must provide personal welding and safety equipment, including a welding helmet, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
