About The Position
The Welder/Fitter fabricates and assembles metal components for structural and industrial applications. The role calls for Fluxcore MIG welding experience, the ability to read technical drawings, and familiarity with precision measuring and fitting tools. This is a first-shift, full-time contract-to-hire position in Ashland, Virginia, paying $23.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on experience. Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Fluxcore MIG welding.
- Ability to pass a flat 1G weld test.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, and rulers.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to use squares, tape measures, Bessey clamps, reachovers, levels, and hammers.
- Dependability and good communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to perform 3G welding.
- TIG welding experience.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and process specifications.
- Weld, fit, and form metal components to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate welding and metalworking equipment safely.
- Inspect finished work and report production results according to schedules and quality requirements.
- Follow established Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
