About The Position

The Welder is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and final assembly of hollow metal frames and related components. This role supports production operations by safely operating welding equipment, completing general shop tasks, and ensuring finished products meet quality and order specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with prior welding experience
Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safe operating practices
Ability to read drawings, follow written and verbal instructions, and work independently
Ability to operate a forklift
Basic math and measurement skills
Must speak English fluently
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
Valid driver’s license and insurability may be required

Responsibilities

Perform welding and fabrication activities to assemble hollow metal frames and components
Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment (e.g., SMAW, GMAW)
Layout, position, align, and secure parts prior to welding; cut or alter materials as needed
Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
Follow all safety, PPE, OSHA, and company policies and procedures
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or material defects
Perform general shop duties such as organizing materials, staging outgoing products, assisting with loading/unloading, and maintaining workspace cleanliness
Assist with door alterations, installation of lite kits, on-site service work, local deliveries, and inventory activities as assigned
Participate in shop meetings and support production needs during peak periods
