About The Position

A welder fabricator job involves tasks such as welding and fabricating metal components, reading and interpreting blueprints, operating welding equipment, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the finished product. This job may also involve using hand and power tools, performing inspections and maintenance on equipment, and following safety protocols. Essential Duties: Capable of fabricating erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals; stainless steel galvanized black iron. Ranging from angle iron channel iron round flat stock etc. Capable of performing the 3 major types of welding TIG welding ARC welding MIG welding Must be able to safely operate hand power tools shop equipment to include metal shear metal brake drill press metal lathe plasma cutter oxy acetylene torch sanders etc. Able to weld in multiple positions flat vertical horizontal or overhead. Must be capable of reading blueprints specifications sketches work orders plan layout assembly and welding operations. Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications using calipers micrometers ect. as needed . Set up and operate welding fabricating equipment to perform jobs blueprints sketches or verbal orders. Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications. Perform machining with lathe broaching tools drilling tapping and other machining functions. Maintain tools equipment in a safe clean and orderly manner including shop tools welding cutting gauges and welding equipment. Follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application OR be a graduate and/or student of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
  • Must be able to safely operate hand power tools and shop equipment.
  • Able to weld in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and planning layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Perform close tolerance work to meet layout print specifications using calipers, micrometers, etc. as needed.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintaining tools and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner, including shop tools, welding/cutting gauges, and welding equipment.
