About The Position

Gerhart is seeking a skilled, hands-on Welder/Fabricator to join its team in Tatamy, Pennsylvania. The role involves fabricating metal products from professional blueprints, sketches, and raw materials through to finished products. The Welder/Fabricator uses a variety of welding, grinding, and sanding techniques to achieve accurate, high-quality results. The position offers the opportunity to work on industrial weighing and automation systems and develop professionally through career growth opportunities and ongoing training.

Requirements

• Familiarity with common metal shop tools and equipment, including TIG and MIG welders, brazing equipment, cutting torches, grinders, brakes, drills, taps, saws, fixtures, and measuring tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete jobs and projects.
• Previous work experience with pipe fitting, tube bending, and compression fitting.
• Forklift certification.
• Physical ability to consistently lift, move, and carry products weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to bend, crawl, and lift for extended periods safely and in accordance with company guidelines and OSHA standards.
• Self-motivation and critical-thinking skills.
• Motivation, coachability, and readiness to perform hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate products from professional blueprints or sketches as required.
• Use metal welding, grinding, and sanding techniques to produce accurate, finished work.
• Fabricate products from raw material through to the finished product.
