About The Position

We are looking for a WELDER-FABRICATOR/MILL OPERATOR TRAINEE to join our Sikeston, MO plant. As a Mill Operator Trainee with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG.
Technical training or welding experience strongly preferred.
Ability to work with precision instruments.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to complete & pass the Hel-Cor Mill Certification within 1-year of hire.

Nice To Haves

Certification on forklift operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
Uses template, pattern, scribe, etc. to mark and lay out material.
Aligns and assembles product for welding using crane, lever hoist ,chains, etc.
Uses cutting or plasma torch to burn to precision layout.
Welds structure joints completely.
Cleans welded joints and applies zinc enriched Galvanox paint to welded area.
Operates overhead cranes, coil handlers or forklifts to move coil from storage to machine area.
Threads in-coming coils through mill processes.
Operates mill components using manual and automatic control on control panel.
Performs and records all QA check measurements required by the Quality Manual on product being produced.
Performs equipment setup, routine mechanical maintenance, and repairs to all mill process equipment.
Adheres to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
