About The Position

E.L. Harvey & Sons is looking for a Welder/Compactor Technician to join their team in New Bedford, MA. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a pay rate of $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience. This role involves performing welding and electrical repairs on trash containers and compactors, as well as sanding and painting. The technician will maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to corporate and OSHA standards, and document parts usage and repair times. Effective communication regarding needed repairs is also a responsibility.

Requirements

Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Respirator fit test required.
Minimum 1 years of experience in MIG welding.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with electrical and hydraulic systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform welding and electrical repair of trash containers and compactors.
Perform sanding and painting of trash containers.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
