About The Position
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill a Weld Shop Helper position for a commercial door manufacturer located in Hillsboro, OR. The person in this position will be assisting in their metal department and support activities of the welding team. Looking for someone who would like to train up into a welding and fabrication position!
Requirements
- Desire to be trained
- Able to heavy lift
- Show up everyday and be on time and ready to work
- Able to use and operate hand tools & grinders
- Desire to create a long term working relationship
- Pass pre-employment screenings: Background Check, Drug screen (includes THC)
Nice To Haves
- 6 mos of experience in metal fabrication
Responsibilities
- Assist with prepping tools and materials
- Follow welders instructions
- Prep for locking hardware on doors
- Install windows in doors
- Prime painting materials
- Grind welds and fine corners
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas
- Identifying safety risks and hazards and complying with relevant safety procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
