About The Position

The Weld Operator II reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to weld metal components using various welding processes and techniques. This role involves following established procedures, maintaining safety standards, and performing routine checks to ensure product quality.

Requirements

• Proficiency in multiple welding processes such as GMAW and GTAW.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• 2 years of professional welding experience.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a certified welding program or apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to plan welding operations.
• Sets up and operates welding equipment to produce fabricated components.
• Prepares materials for welding by cleaning surfaces, grinding, and fitting components.
• Inspects completed welds visually and using testing methods to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoots and repair welds as needed.
• Maintains welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Follows all safety regulations and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May operate machinery including welding robots, saws, and grinders.
