About The Position

The NSI P2 Weld Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by performing precise welding operations to assemble and fabricate components according to strict quality and safety standards. This position requires the operator to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate and consistent welds. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment while adhering to all safety protocols. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing defect-free welds are essential to meet production schedules and maintain product integrity. Ultimately, the NSI P2 Weld Operator contributes to the overall success of the manufacturing team by delivering high-quality welded products that meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a P2 level welder or equivalent welding certification.
  • Proven experience in welding operations, specifically with P2 level welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety standards and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Additional welding certifications such as AWS (American Welding Society) certifications.
  • Familiarity with automated welding equipment and robotics.
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy and welding metallurgy principles.
  • Experience with quality control processes and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to understand welding requirements.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including TIG, MIG, and arc welding machines, to perform P2 level welds.
  • Inspect welds for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition, following all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve welding issues and improve processes.
  • Document welding activities and maintain accurate records of production and inspections.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards throughout the welding process.
