About The Position

Northern Stamping, Inc. (NSI) leverages advanced engineering expertise and extensive manufacturing experience to identify and implement cost-saving solutions during the design and launch phases of new programs. They continue to drive efficiency by incorporating state-of-the-art automation and streamlined manufacturing processes throughout production. Northern Stamping, a leading unionized metal stamping company, is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across their manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical experience, a solid understanding of automated systems, and a proactive approach to minimizing downtime and supporting production.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician certification or a minimum of 2 years of advanced education in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable with a strong commitment to safety and quality

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and automated systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on stamping presses, weld cells, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, including motors, control circuits, PLCs, sensors, and automated machinery
  • Complete basic mechanical repairs and assist with equipment upkeep as needed
  • Install, upgrade, and replace electrical components, systems, and machinery
  • Work closely with production teams to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and service schedules
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and company policies
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by management
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and off-shift hours as needed
