About The Position

Victaulic is hiring a Weld Apprentice at its Utah Facility. As part of the Fabrication team, the apprentice will develop welding skills and knowledge through a training program, perform welds according to drawings and instructions, and ensure welds are clean and inspected before products move to the next operation. Training is provided for the required welding test.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a horizontal and vertical multi-pass fillet weld test using the flux cored arc welding (FCAW) process within 30 days of employment; training is provided.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

Nice To Haves

Ability to read blueprints.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in the training program to develop welding skills and knowledge.
Perform welds according to drawings and/or instructions.
Ensure welds are clean, ground, and inspected, and repair welds if necessary before moving product to the next operation.
Complete inspection records and other required documentation neatly and accurately, and return them to the supervisor at the end of the workday.
Carry out work in accordance with established company procedures.
Verify that the welding machine calibration sticker is up to date.
Maintain a neat and clean workplace and comply with FEM and LEAN manufacturing principles.
Immediately report unsafe equipment to the supervisor and lock out equipment until repairs can be performed.
Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
Use flame cutting equipment if instructed.
