About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Welcome Desk Representative for their Glenwood YMCA location. This role involves greeting and assisting members and guests, ensuring a positive experience, and serving as the face of the building. Responsibilities include assisting with new member enrollment, providing facility tours, educating individuals on the YMCA's mission, volunteer opportunities, campaigns, events, and financial assistance. The representative will also maintain the welcome desk, keep membership records accurate, and ensure compliance with YMCA standards and government regulations. Attendance and participation in YMCA events are also expected.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, communication and organization.
  • Computer knowledge and data entry skills.
  • General knowledge of cash handling procedures and basic math skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all members and guests ensuring a positive and enriching experience.
  • Enthusiastically welcome all who enter the location and serve as the face of the building.
  • Assist with the enrollment of new members.
  • Provide facility tours.
  • Educate members and guests on the YMCA's mission, volunteer opportunities, annual community support campaign, special events, and financial assistance.
  • Communicate with members on available programs.
  • Balance daily work and keep the welcome desk clean and in order.
  • Keep membership records up to date and accurate.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA standards and government regulations.
  • Attend and participate in YMCA family events and program activities.
