About The Position

This role is responsible for storing, locating, gathering, and sorting materials used in furnace operations, ensuring materials are not mixed. The Weigher will gather, weigh, and move materials to create specified furnace charges using equipment such as wheelbarrows, charge pans, and various power lifting equipment. Additionally, the position involves performing routine general labor functions in the melt/yard area, cutting scrap pieces to the proper size for re-melting, and performing other saw and blasting work as needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of melt operations and materials.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling heavy loads.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Store, locate, gather and sort materials used in furnace operations, taking care to prevent mixing of materials.
• Gather, weigh and move materials to make up specified furnace charges using wheel barrows, charge pans and a variety of power lifting equipment.
• Perform routine general labor functions in melt/yard area.
• Cut scrap pieces to proper size for re-melting.
• Perform other saw and blasting work as needed.
