About The Position

Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes is seeking a dedicated Weekend Transfer Lead to join its transfer team. The associate handles incoming calls, drives a company vehicle, and interacts with families, healthcare providers, and hospice providers to transfer deceased individuals into the company’s care respectfully and professionally. The position is on-call, part-time, night shift, and weekend-focused.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry over 100 pounds, push or pull up to 300 pounds, and use transfer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work with occasional exposure to biological and chemical hazards; personal protective equipment is provided.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a first responder or a background in ambulance or patient-transport driving is highly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls during on-call shifts, responding by driving to transfer the deceased or routing calls to a Funeral Director.
• Interact professionally and compassionately by phone and in person with grieving families and medical staff.
• Follow safety standards, protocols, and professional appearance and attire guidelines.
• Complete minimal administrative tasks as required during orientation and shift periods.
