About The Position

Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes is seeking a dedicated Weekend Transfer Lead to join its transfer team. The role handles incoming calls during on-call shifts and responds by driving a company vehicle to transfer deceased individuals into the company’s care or routing calls to a Funeral Director. The associate interacts directly with grieving families, healthcare providers, and hospice staff, providing respectful and professional service. The position is part-time, on-call, night shift, and weekend-focused. It includes occasional exposure to biological and chemical hazards; personal protective equipment is provided.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry over 100 lbs. and push or pull up to 300 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to use transfer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a first responder or in ambulance or patient-transport driving is highly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls during on-call shifts and respond by driving to transfer the deceased or routing calls to a Funeral Director.
• Interact professionally and compassionately by phone and in person with grieving families and medical staff.
• Follow safety standards, protocols, and professional appearance and attire guidelines.
• Complete minimal administrative tasks during orientation and shift periods.
