Weekend Sign Installer - Charleston, SC
About The Position
Artisan Direct is seeking an independent contractor to place and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Cainhoy Preserve community in the Charleston, SC area. Install the signs between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM, and pick up those same signs between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work may be completed at any time within the applicable windows, provided all signs are placed and removed by the stated deadlines. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic mounted on wooden stakes. Artisan Direct provides signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. Contractors use their own vehicle and smartphone, choose their driving order, and store signs and extra stakes safely during the week. This is a recurring weekend role with flexible timing within the required work windows. Contractors may accept or decline routes but must complete any route they commit to. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment with Artisan Direct. Contractors are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance. No benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees are offered. Starting compensation is $82.50 per weekend, paid by direct deposit every two weeks. A $20 signing bonus and a $100 bonus after four weeks of completed work are also offered. The starting pay reflects the current work available in this location; additional work may be offered as it becomes available.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone), roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the mobile application.
- Ability to lift and place signs and work outdoors.
- Ability to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
- Dependability and ability to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
- Contractors provide their own vehicle and mobile device and are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance.
Responsibilities
- Install signs every weekend between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM.
- Pick up the same signs between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM.
- Use Artisan Direct’s mobile application to report sign installations and pickups at specific locations.
- Store signs and extra stakes safely during the week.
- Submit a weekly invoice and order replacement inventory through Artisan Direct’s website after completing pickup.
- Complete routes committed to within the required placement and pickup time windows.
