About The Position

The Weekend Nurse Supervisor supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Nursing Services staff on weekends and provides direct nursing care to residents. The role follows applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as direction from the Director of Nursing Services (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON), to maintain the highest degree of quality care. The position is part-time at Ridgeview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Cleburne, Texas, with an eight-hour shift in a nursing home setting.

Requirements

• Possess at least a nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
• At least three years of nursing experience in long-term care is required.
• Working knowledge of computers, including Internet, keyboard, and mouse navigation, is required.
• Must hold an RN license; very strong LVN candidates will also be considered.
• Must clear a criminal background check, be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry, and not appear on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• One year of nursing experience is listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day functions of assigned Nursing Services staff and ensure performance aligns with applicable long-term care rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Ensure staff comply with procedures in the Nursing Services Procedures Manual.
• Ensure staff perform the functions outlined in their respective job descriptions.
• Make written and oral reports or recommendations concerning shift activities as required.
• Coordinate with other resident services to maintain each resident’s total regimen of care.
• Interpret departmental policies and procedures for assigned staff, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
