About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Weekend Nurse Practitioners at its Metairie, Louisiana location. Avenues is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers offering care across detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. The organization is accredited by JCAHO and CARF and complies with ASAM standards.

The Nurse Practitioner creates individual medical care treatment plans, monitors clients’ medical status, and manages medication throughout treatment. The role provides care to stabilize patients and support their engagement in treatment, coordinates with pharmacy and medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, and maintains complete documentation. The position also involves keeping client appointment schedules current and completing them efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid state medical license; the posting specifies PMHNP.
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.

• Three to five years of experience in a related clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for clients throughout treatment.
• Provide medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to engage in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and lab orders; and review and address UDS and lab results.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
