About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care at its Eastern Shore residential facility in Maryland, a 100-bed center for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The role supports clients throughout treatment by developing individual care plans, monitoring their health, and managing medications so they can stabilize and participate fully in treatment. The Nurse Practitioner coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams; manages pharmacy, urine drug screen, medication, and laboratory orders; reviews results and follows up as needed; maintains complete medical documentation; and completes client appointment schedules. The facility is a newly renovated residential center on secluded property with a multidisciplinary staff and a range of amenities.
Requirements
- Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
- CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans for clients.
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management throughout treatment.
- Provide medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders and create urine drug screen, medication, and laboratory orders.
- Review and address urine drug screen and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
