About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) for its Eastern Shore location, a 100-bed residential facility providing inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The role provides medical care and monitoring for clients throughout treatment, supporting stabilization and engagement in recovery. The position works collaboratively with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams and maintains timely, thorough documentation and scheduling.
Requirements
- Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Strong acute observation and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
- CPR certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for clients throughout treatment.
- Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and lab orders; and review and address UDS and lab results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
