Weekend Nurse Liaison 20-40 hours (NWH)
About The Position
Named by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last four years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Weekend Nurse Liaison to join its expanding weekend nurse team. This is an on-site position located at Newton Wellesley Hospital. The role of Weekend Nurse Liaison provides information about hospice services to patients, families, and hospital-based staff, conducts clinical assessments, coordinates hospital discharge plans, and maintains professional relationships within hospitals, with a focus on the assigned hospital(s).
Requirements
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of MA as a Registered Nurse
- At least two years' experience preferred in community health, oncology, hospice, or palliative care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, Good Shepherd colleagues, patients, and their families
- Highly skilled at providing patient assessments and evaluations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Competency with accepted standards of hospice nursing practice
Responsibilities
- Provides information about hospice services to patients, families, and hospital-based staff
