About The Position

FAT Karting League's mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by radically reducing the barriers to entry. We run karting events across the Midwest throughout the year to cater for drivers with different levels of experience, that creates a pathway from age 6-17. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working people - with a passion for motorsport - to join our weekend staff crew for 2025. If you don't feel you have the skills listed for the advertised roles, and want to develop a career in motorsport, we would still like to hear from you. The roles we need to fill will involve working Friday to Sunday and potentially travelling to different karting circuits around the Midwest.

Requirements

  • Event organisation and management skills with experience at motorsport events
  • Lots of energy, enthusiasm and great customer service skills
  • Empathetic, calm and work well under pressure
  • Experienced Customer Service candidates
  • Skilled mechanics should have experienced in either race cars, motorbikes or karts
  • Experienced individuals to be responsible for judicial processing and implementation of sporting regulations
  • Individuals to assist with on track incidents, recovering karts and to warn drivers via flags or marshal lights
  • Individuals to assist with the smooth operation of our pitlane
  • Experienced motorsport timekeeper, preferably with experience of Alpha Timing
  • People with a passion and understanding of motorsport who feel they could work as driver coaches
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with and working with children
  • Good people and organisation skills
  • Confidence to be a team leader

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in motorsport desirable but not essential for Pit lane Coordinator
  • This role might suit someone who has previous experience of working with children

Responsibilities

  • Assist at events
  • Make phone calls to prospective customers to assist them with any questions they have before they sign up
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts
  • Be responsible for judicial processing and implementation of sporting regulations
  • Assist with on track incidents, recovering karts and warning drivers via flags or marshal lights
  • Assist with the smooth operation of our pitlane by ensuring karts and drivers are ready for the next session or race
  • Work as driver coaches to pass on knowledge
  • Manage pit lane operations
