About The Position

The Home for Little Wanderers' Southeast Campus, located in Plymouth, MA, is seeking Weekend Residential Counselors to support youth who have experienced trauma and/or have significant emotional and behavioral challenges in a residential setting. The campus provides a unique recovery environment with facilities like a lake, walking trails, fields, a Project Adventure ropes course, and a gymnasium. The role involves utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, with new employees receiving training in behavior support, crisis management, trauma-informed care, and social services best practices. The approach focuses on positive relationships, child-centered care, and encouraging staff to develop new activity ideas.

Requirements

• 1 year prior experience working with youth preferred
• HS diploma or equivalency
• A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of kids

Responsibilities

• Passing the CORI/background check and having a valid ID
• Being physically active for an 8-10 hour shift
• Participating in verbal de-escalation and physical intervention with youth
• Multi-tasking in a changing and fast-paced treatment environment
• Receiving and implement feedback in the moment and through a structured supervision process
• Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required
