About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lowell is hiring a Weekend Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients in the local area, including Fayetteville, Lowell, Springdale, and Johnson. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity through personal care, household assistance, companionship, and support with daily activities. Visits vary by client and may involve helping with hygiene, light housekeeping, exercise goals, medication reminders, shopping, meal planning and preparation, and mobility or ambulation. Caregivers must respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Part-time shifts are offered in 8-, 10-, and 12-hour lengths, as well as short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion for vulnerable people and interest in providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Provide light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
