About The Position

The News Anchor Reporter serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content across platforms in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way. The role produces content for television, the internet, mobile, and other platforms; works with management to enterprise and develop stories daily; and demonstrates compelling storytelling through dynamic live shots and stand-ups, creative graphics, and digital and social media. The position organizes material, determines the story angle or emphasis, and writes stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards. It also gathers and verifies information through interviews, observation, and research, and builds a network of sources that helps the Company stay ahead of competitors. Special projects and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field; equivalent years of experience may substitute for education.
• Three years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
• Strong reporting skills.
• Understanding of the importance of social media.
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
• Ability to promote teamwork and maintain a cooperative attitude with all station personnel.

• Operate newsroom computer systems.
