About The Position

The News Anchor Reporter serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content across platforms, presenting information in a clear, engaging, and meaningful manner. The role produces content for television, internet, mobile, and other platforms; works with management to develop daily story ideas; and uses dynamic live shots, stand-ups, creative graphics, and digital and social media to deliver compelling storytelling. The position also organizes material, determines story angles or emphasis, and writes content according to prescribed editorial style and format standards. The reporter gathers and verifies information through interviews, observation, and research, and builds a network of sources to help the Company stay ahead of competitors. Special projects and other assigned duties are included.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field; equivalent years of experience may substitute for education.
• Three years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
• Strong reporting skills.
• Understanding of the importance of social media.
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
• Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative attitude with all station personnel.
