About The Position

BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company looking for a Website Performance Manager to own the performance of their web properties, including their marketing site and eCommerce course store. This role involves ensuring effective lead capture, optimizing organic and AI-driven search rankings, and improving the visitor's journey from initial click to purchase. The manager will set quality standards for all website content, identify and resolve site issues (speed, conversion paths, indexing errors), and create a strategic roadmap for the web team and external partners. Responsibilities include hands-on work on technically complex tasks, reviewing team and partner output, and generating performance reports. The ideal candidate will have experience managing website performance, preferably with an eCommerce component, and desires autonomy in their role. This is an in-person position based in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Requirements

  • 5+ years running, operating, or owning the performance of a website.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress: comfortable in the CMS, able to fix on-page issues and judge the quality of work built on it.
  • A track record of implementation work done personally, not just directed.
  • Demonstrated results: measurable improvements to conversion, traffic, or search performance.
  • Experience running conversion rate optimization and split or A/B testing that yields measurable, provable improvement.
  • Ability to improve SEO, ranking, and quality score, and fluency in diagnosing site health.
  • Capacity to set direction and quality standards for others' work without formal authority.
  • Ability to back decisions with data and evidence, persuading with results.
  • Thrive on autonomy, taking ownership of a roadmap and reporting cadence.
  • Experience in a B2B or SaaS context where the lead is the primary conversion.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on eCommerce platform optimization.
  • Demonstrated AEO/GEO results.
  • Experience using AI tools in personal workflow for analysis, QA, content, or development.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or marketing automation.
  • Content or content strategy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize landing pages and entry points to increase lead conversion, collaborating with the paid media team to improve ad traffic landing page performance.
  • Lead the web performance function and a small team.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and agencies.
  • Improve organic search performance and visibility in AI-driven search (AEO/GEO) by enhancing rankings and technical site health.
  • Streamline the path to purchase on the public-facing eCommerce experience, from entry through checkout.
  • Uphold the web quality bar by identifying and fixing issues like broken CTAs, image problems, and content errors; monitor site health and brand standards; and establish templates and standards for others.
  • Develop a strategic web roadmap, breaking it down into two-week sprints and task-level assignments.
  • Direct and quality control the web team and external partners based on clear priorities, reviewing their work before it goes live.
  • Handle or closely supervise technically challenging, senior-level tasks, remaining hands-on to accurately assess quality and effort.
  • Generate effective, ongoing reports that provide performance overviews and inform strategic priorities.
  • Scope project work and identify resource needs, validating estimates from internal teams and external partners.
  • Diagnose site health using diagnostic tools and propose concrete, repeatable fixes instead of one-off patches.

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life insurance and disability insurance
  • Health spending account
  • Flexible working hours
  • On-the-job training and growth opportunities
