About The Position

The Website Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the organization's website to ensure it effectively communicates its values, mission, programs, and impact. This role involves website design, content management, SEO optimization, usability, and enhancement of user engagement.

Requirements

Proficiency in CMS platforms, in particular experience with Squarespace.
Experience with SEO best practices.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance (ADA, WCAG).

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
Experience with nonprofit websites, online fundraising, or advocacy campaigns.
Familiarity with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) for web visuals.

Responsibilities

Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with branding guidelines.
Oversee website functionality, troubleshoot issues, and work with IT staff to resolve technical problems.
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, utilizing a tool such as WAVE.
Create and update documentation on website policy and procedures.
Collaborate with the Communications team and other teams to publish news posts, event pages, campaign content and resources.
Take initiative as needed to collect content from the organization’s teams and to keep it up to date.
Optimize web pages for SEO, including keyword integration, excerpts and metadata.
Implement strategies to increase website traffic and engagement.
Maintain compliance with copyright and attribution of posted content.
Monitor and improve website navigation and user experience (UX).
Use Squarespace Analytics to monitor and analyze website metrics, such as website usage and engagement.
Identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Communicate with, guide and supervise the members of the web team.
Train new members and support the development of the team.
Attend organization managers’ meetings to foster collaboration and information sharing.
