About The Position

Vericast is seeking a Web Press Operator I to support the daily operation, maintenance, and quality control of web presses. The position works under the direction of the press operator and coordinates with internal teams to ensure required materials—including ink, plates, paper, and tape—are available. The operator maintains press cleanliness and verifies the accuracy of printed materials. This is a second-shift role scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The role is based in a year-round, temperature-controlled, bright, clean, team-based manufacturing and printing environment. The hourly pay rate is $25.00 or more, with a $1.75 shift differential and eligibility for a $0.50-per-hour wage increase after 90 days.

Requirements

Display excellent work habits and willingness to be a team player.
Be able to identify colors and imperfections.
Demonstrate high mechanical reasoning.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of offset or web printing experience is preferred.
A proven track record in waste reduction and profit improvement.

Responsibilities

Perform press start-up procedures and daily or weekly maintenance and safety checks.
Operate the machine, including print unit, numbering unit, process unit, and delivery unit setup, and perform other tasks needed to complete press operator duties.
Inspect print quality before printing, during printing, and after printing.
Complete press cleanup, shutdown, and end-of-shift activities.
Maintain press cleanliness and ensure the press is operating properly.
Coordinate with internal teams to obtain required materials, including ink, plates, paper, and tape.
Communicate with warehouse staff about paper type and material availability, production planning about required materials, marketing about press proofs and press checks, and the Production/Process Supervisor about priorities and requirements.
Ensure paper rolls are in good condition, produced stock meets quality specifications, and basic equipment operations are in good working order.
