About The Position

The Brick is a leading Canadian retailer of home furnishings with over 220 locations nationwide. The company is currently focusing on building its online brand through digital channels such as social media, email, and its website to attract a new generation of shoppers. The Brick develops its creative content in-house, handling website, email, social media, and digital flyer initiatives. To meet production demands, they are expanding their marketing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all facets of digital marketing within a major Canadian retailer. A passion for design is essential, as the role involves creating engaging content like emails, social media posts, and promotional website banners to capture customer attention.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-years of proven experience in web design, backed by a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design best practices.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen focus on typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Ability to articulate design decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic JavaScript or CMS experience like WordPress/Shopify

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop promotional banners, website layouts, wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces (UI).
  • Ensure websites are optimized for usability, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Create visually appealing graphics, icons, branding assets, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all web pages and assets adhere strictly to company brand guidelines.
  • Work closely with developers, marketers, and stakeholders to execute the visual elements of our digital properties.
  • Test designs for functionality, cross-browser compatibility, and responsiveness.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail is critical.
  • Gathering required information from the digital team, purchasing group, vendors and management.
