About The Position

Base is seeking a Web Designer to own and evolve basepowercompany.com, a key channel where homeowners learn about Base, build trust, and become members. The role involves designing and building web experiences that are visually strong, communicate clearly, and support growth. The designer will collaborate with Growth, Marketing, and Engineering and bring independent design judgment to the site's appearance, feel, and performance.

As part of a small, fast-moving team, the Web Designer will use AI-assisted tools to independently turn ideas into live experiences. The position covers landing pages, product launches, improvements to the existing site, and the ongoing development of a reusable web design system. The work directly affects sign-ups, acquisition costs, and the quality of new members. Responsibilities may expand or change as business needs evolve.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in web or digital design, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft.
• Strong fundamentals in typography, layout, interaction, and responsive design, and an understanding of how design influences usability and conversion.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to turn designs into working experiences and the ability to build and ship independently.
• Experience working with design systems and creating reusable components.
• Strong proficiency in Figma.
• Good writing instincts.
• High degree of ownership and resourcefulness, including the ability to take an idea from concept to launch without constant direction.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and ongoing evolution of basepowercompany.com, including landing pages, product launches, and improvements across the existing site.
• Design and build web experiences that balance visual craft, clear storytelling, and conversion.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to implement designs, prototype ideas, and ship improvements independently.
• Maintain and evolve the web design system and create reusable components.
• Work with Growth and Marketing to shape content, test ideas, and iterate based on performance and user feedback.
• Ensure a high-quality experience across devices, considering accessibility, SEO, and performance.
