About The Position

SunSoft Online is recruiting a Web Content Manager for a state veterans agency. The primary focus of this role is digital accessibility, involving the implementation, auditing, and enforcement of WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards across all agency web properties. The goal is to ensure that no digital barrier prevents a veteran from accessing state support. Responsibilities include conducting accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing (keyboard and screen-reader), remediating non-compliant PDFs and media, writing plain-language content to simplify complex benefits information, administering the Content Management System (CMS), and training content contributors throughout the agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (hard requirement).
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 success criteria and testing methodology.
  • Experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
  • Section 508/ADA Title II familiarity.
  • Semantic HTML5/CSS and responsive design skills.
  • Strong plain-language writing and copyediting skills.
  • PDF/document remediation skills.
  • CMS administration experience.
  • Phoenix-area local only (current city on resume).
  • Ability to attend an in-person interview within a week of close.
  • Ability to start within two weeks of offer.
  • Must pass HireRight background check and drug screening.
  • W2 only, no C2C, no sponsorship.
