About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of experience in designing and manufacturing residential and contract-grade fabrics. As one of the largest woven textile mills globally, we serve furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. This position is for the 3rd shift and includes a shift premium of $1.00 per hour, as well as a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks with no missed time (excluding shutdown periods), which equates to an additional $0.62 per hour.

Requirements

• Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
• Meet all pre-employment requirements.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must be able to consistently lift 25+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Remove cloth from looms and keep the Weave Room clean.
• Vacuum and clean assigned looms and creels.
• Vacuum overhead lights in weaver and warp alley.
• Keep floors swept clean throughout the shift.
• Collect selvage waste and take it to the recycling area.
• Clean assigned stairs.
• Clean air conditioning vents.
• Doff cloth when looms are flagged.
• Advise supervisor if no ticket is flagged.
• Do not doff cloth to the cloth room without a ticket.
• Empty trash cans as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work scheduled overtime.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines.
• Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain 5 S standards.
