About The Position

The Weatherization Field Technician ensures the installation of safety and home energy-saving measures, working to reduce the monthly energy costs of clients. They will weatherize homes by repairing or installing new windows, insulating ductwork, insulating attics, and maintaining heating, ventilating, & air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The location will be moving from Vineyard to Provo in November.

Requirements

Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Basic knowledge of weatherization techniques and materials.
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
Understanding of power tool safety
Ability to read a measuring tape
Experience in removal and installation, manual labor, and the use of tools
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of related experience or comparable training

EPA and RNGA certifications

Responsibilities

Installs double pane windows and insulated fiberglass exterior doors.
Insulates attics, crawl spaces, basements, or walls using various types of insulation.
Records and documents weatherization work performed.
Installs air sealings and insulates the dwelling & attic bypasses.
Performs tests for air sealing efficiency.
Completes Inventory tracking.
Completes weatherstripping of exterior doors.
Installs vapor barriers in crawl spaces.
Installation of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms in all living areas and bedrooms.
Installs LED lights, water heater tanks, thermostats, and ventilation fans.
Uses power tools to complete tasks.
Performs other related duties as required.
