About The Position

SMS Equipment is looking for a Wear Parts & Service Specialist to support quoting and product support operations across Canada. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Product Support, this role is responsible for building accurate parts and service quotations, maintaining quote libraries, supporting product development, and ensuring continuous improvement through tracking and reporting of performance.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in parts and service operations within the construction or mining industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Ability to build accurate and detailed quotations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and customer service.
  • 10+ years of experience in a service or parts environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and mining equipment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with electronic parts and service systems.
  • Knowledge of logistics, inventory planning, and bulk shipments.
  • Experience with wear products such as G.E.T., blades, or undercarriage components.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Intrinsically motivated and committed to making safe choices when completing all tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Parts or Service trade certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build accurate parts and service quotations by collaborating with service supervisors, parts teams, OEMs, and business partners.
  • Gather required inputs including parts, labour estimates, and supplier information to develop detailed customer quotes.
  • Request costing data and proposals from equipment suppliers and business partners to support quotations.
  • Support development of flat rate programs in collaboration with the corporate office.
  • Open, maintain, and close work orders, ensuring accurate documentation, costing, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Track job progress, maintain communication with customers, and ensure all approvals and documentation are complete.
  • Review completed work orders and invoice customers accurately.
  • Build and maintain quote libraries and tracking systems to support future quoting activities.
  • Monitor completed jobs, validate quotations, and adjust pricing models to improve profitability.
  • Support inventory planning and forecasting by analyzing sales trends and supply chain requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers on product quality, scheduling, and issue resolution.
  • Support product development initiatives including design, pricing, approvals, and market launch activities.
  • Participate in training sessions and collaborate with marketing on product awareness and sales strategies.
